Since articling with a prominent Vancouver Litigation firm in the 80's, Steve has focused on personal injury and insurance claims, acting both for and against insurance companies for over 30 years. He brings particular knowledge to motorcycle accident cases, having been a certified motorcycle riding instructor with over 40 years of riding experience. Throughout his years as a lawyer, he has maintained a general litigation and insurance practice, acting on partnership disputes and debt collection. He is regularly consulted on matters involving drug, alcohol and principal operator insurance breach claims. When not in the office, Steve enjoys travelling internationally, pursuing his passion as a documentary film maker on justice reform projects.
Since articling at one of Vancouver’s largest laws firm in 1988/89, Scott’s practice included solicitor’s work, child protection and general litigation, before settling into a personal injury practice in the mid 1990s. While Scott no longer acts as defence counsel for ICBC, his many years of experience acting on the “other side of the fence” has brought a wealth of understanding and knowledge that continues to serve his injured clients very well. While promoting the notion of achieving a fair settlement through consensus or mediation, Scott recognizes that there are occasions when such a result can only be achieved by fighting in court. When not working hard for injured victims, and those denied disability insurance, Scott enjoys traveling, cycling, fitness and spending time with family and friends.

His legal interests reach beyond his work in negligence and insurance at SHB to estate planning and human rights. Stefan also serves on the Board of Directors for Plan Institute, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through learning initiatives and advocating for policy development. Away from the office, Stefan is an avid golfer.
